Description

Eydon Hall Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and has a stone slate roof with a central brick and stone stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three bays. The left and right bays have 19th-century canted bay windows. The central window, which replaces a doorway, has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century metal casement. There is a blocked mezzanine window to the left of centre, which is a single light with a plain stone frame. The first floor has two-light casement windows with wooden lintels in the left and centre bays, and a three-light window in the right bay with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century wooden casement. A 20th-century gabled dormer is present. The gable ends are coped with kneelers. The three-light first floor window on the left side has a stone hood, wooden mullions, and an old iron casement. There is also a two-light attic window with a wooden lintel and an old iron casement. An extension to the right, dating from the 18th or 19th century, is made of squared coursed ironstone and has an artificial stone slate roof. This extension has two storeys and two bays, with a two-light window on the ground floor featuring a wooden lintel and a 20th-century metal casement. A 20th-century lean-to porch on the right side includes a doorway with a wooden lintel and a plank door. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have been remodelled around 1970.
