Description
High Park Lodge is a pair of lodges that have been combined into one dwelling. They date from the 18th century and were remodeled in the early 20th century, with a pedimented centerpiece that connects them. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and ironstone ashlar, topped with a slate roof and featuring stone and rendered stacks. It is a single-storey structure with five bays. The central pediment is supported by square columns on the outer bays and two Tuscan columns on the inner bays. The doorway has a moulded wood surround and a 20th-century door. On either side of the doorway, there are canted bays with windows that have arched stone surrounds, keyblocks, and balustraded parapets topped with small pediments. The projecting outer bays also feature pediments, rusticated quoins, and arched windows with keyblocks. There are linked stacks on either side that take the form of a keystoned arch. The interior has not been inspected. These lodges originally flanked the drive to Ashby Lodge, which was demolished around 1920.
