Description

Nos. 45 and 46 on The Lane is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is built of coursed squared ironstone and features a thatched roof with brick stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a total of four bays. The right bay has a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel, while the left bay and the second bay from the right feature 20th-century bow windows. The second bay from the left has a two-light transomed casement window with a wooden lintel, and the outer bays on the first floor have two-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The inner bays on the first floor have two-light transomed casement windows with wooden lintels. There are three roof dormers and coped gable ends. The entrance, located on the right side, has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door. Inside, there are open fireplaces with bread ovens in two of the ground floor rooms, along with chamfered beams.
