Description

Moat House Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, with some sections rebuilt in brick, and has an artificial stone slate roof. Brick stacks are also present. The house is two storeys high and has four bays. The entrance is in the third bay from the left, featuring a 20th-century gabled stone and timber porch with a panelled door and a wooden lintel. Three-light casement windows with wooden lintels are situated on either side of the entrance. 19th-century canted bay windows are in the outer bays. First-floor windows are also three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The interior includes a set of chamfered beams throughout the ground floor rooms, alongside an open fireplace with integrated bacon cupboards.
