Description
Q Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is constructed of squared uncoursed ironstone and timber framing, topped with a slate roof that features brick and stone stacks. The building is L-shaped with a chimney at the angle and has two storeys plus an attic, comprising three bays. The doorway in the left bay has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door. To the right, there is a 20th-century casement window and the wooden lintel of a baluster window. On the first floor, there are 2-light casement windows from the 18th and 19th centuries. The rear of the cottage has a timber-framed first floor jetty. There is a short projecting wing to the left, which is two storeys high and has one bay with 3- and 4-light casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
