Description

Two houses and a former bakehouse, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of regular coursed lias stone, with a slate roof. Originally designed with a 2-unit plan for each house, and a central entrance, they present a 5-window front of sash windows with glazing bars, each window having a flat arched head. A 19th-century six-panelled door with a 20th-century porch serves as the entrance to the former bakehouse. The building features a moulded stone cornice, ashlar gable parapets, and kneelers, with brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The left-hand house was originally the bakehouse and incorporates a plank door to the floor on the left side, with a stable door below. Inside the bakehouse, an original 19th-century coal-fired oven remains.
