Description
The Poplars is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone and features a slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. The central entrance is framed by a moulded stone doorcase, which includes plain pilasters and an entablature with a cornice, leading to a part glazed door. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and flat arches. The hipped roof is topped with brick stacks at the ridge. Both the left and right elevations are similar, each featuring canted bays at the ground floor. Inside, there are 19th-century marble fireplaces in the main ground-floor rooms.
