Description
The Griffin Inn is a public house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone and features a corrugated iron roof, which was formerly thatched. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The front facade has a four-window range, consisting of two 19th-century casement windows and a blind window, all topped with continuous flat ashlar arch heads. There are two entrances located between the windows, each with 20th-century doors and porches. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers, and there are brick stacks at the ridge and end. The left gable, which faces the road, is made of limestone ashlar. Inside, the right room features a fireplace with a bressumer.
