Description

The Grotto at Grotto Spinney is a structure located in Boughton Park, built around the 1770s for William Wentworth, the second Earl of Stratford. It is made of coursed limestone rubble and is situated under an earth mound. The grotto has a half-hemisphere shape with an open front, constructed over a natural spring. Inside, the walls are made of exposed stone.
