Description

This chest tomb, dating from the 17th century, is made of ironstone and is located approximately 3 meters southwest of the west corner of the south aisle of the Church of St. Mary in Culworth. It features angle columns with carved capitals and a plain top. On the north side, there is an inscription plaque that is flanked by strapwork cartouches, with similar cartouches at both ends. The south side of the tomb is badly weathered, and there is a fragmentary inscription that appears to reference Kenin and includes the date 1660.
