12/64 Real Tennis Court at Easton Neston House

Real Tennis Court. 1887 on earlier foundations. Red brick with limestone dressings, slate roof. Adjacent to wing attached to Easton Neston house (q.v.) and lying between wing and kitchen garden on west boundary of formal garden. The court has blank wall to ground floor, a timber balcony at first floor level of garden front and row of wood mullion and transom windows above with flat-arched brick lintels and flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters bearing sections of entablature. Moulded stone cornice and plain stone-coped parapet. Penthouses and tambour removed. Included for group value. (Lord Aberdare, Tennis and Rackets, 1980, p221)
