Description

The Real Tennis Court at Easton Neston House was built in 1887 on earlier foundations. It is constructed of red brick with limestone dressings and features a slate roof. The court is located next to a wing of Easton Neston House and is situated between this wing and the kitchen garden, on the west boundary of the formal garden. The ground floor has a blank wall, while the first floor includes a timber balcony on the garden front. Above this, there is a row of wood mullion and transom windows with flat-arched brick lintels, flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters that support sections of an entablature. The structure also has a moulded stone cornice and a plain stone-coped parapet. The penthouses and tambour have been removed. This building is included for its group value.
