12/49 Walls, gatepiers, gates and retaining wall to forecourt of Easton Neston House

Walls, gatepiers, gates and balustrade. c.1930. Walls of brick with limestone piers, niches and coping. Wall extends from right hand end of basement of Easton Neston House to enclose forecourt and is punctuated by niches containing over-life size statues, piers topped by stone urns and gatepiers to garden and drive with wrought-iron gates. Retaining wall opposite house separates forecourt from park and has limestone balustrade and central flight of 9 stone steps. Further section of wall with gatepiers and gates to drive, attached to left end of wing, completes enclosure of forecourt. (Park and gardens included in H.B.M.C.E.
