Description
The terrace wall in the garden of Easton Neston House dates from around 1930 and is constructed of limestone. It serves as a retaining wall for the formal terrace located in front of the garden elevation of Easton Neston House. The wall features a central flight of stone steps, which are flanked by seated lions on plinths. The sections at either end of the wall project forward and are continued by semi-circular walls that lead to the lower terrace, which is terminated by stone piers topped with urns. This structure is part of a formal garden layout designed by the 1st Baron Hesketh and his head gardener, Swainson. The park and gardens are included in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade II.
