Description
The K6 telephone box, located on The Green in Lilbourne, is a standardised design made of cast iron and painted red. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with crowns on the top panels that are applied rather than perforated. Above the doors, there are rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE," set beneath a shallow-curved roof. The internal equipment has been modernised.
The kiosk is well-maintained, with the paint in good condition and the glass window panels intact. It is situated at the southern point of The Green, at the junction of four roads. The kiosk is 41 meters from Lilbourne Post Office, 87 meters from Stone House Farm House, and 154 meters from Old Manor House, all of which are also listed buildings. The kiosk has a strong visual connection with these three nearby listed structures.
