Description
Lilbourne Post Office, dating from the early 18th century, consists of two houses that now function as two houses and a shop. The building features rendered brickwork, likely over timber framing, and is topped with a plain-tile roof. Each house has two units, creating an L-shaped plan. The front elevation displays a three-window range of 19th-century casements, with a gable on the right side. The entrance to No. 4 is a 19th-century plank door located to the left of center, with a shop window next to it. The former entrance to No. 5 is at the far right. A large central brick chimney stack is present. The right side elevation is similar, featuring a casement window with some leaded lights on the ground floor to the right. Although the interior was not inspected, No. 4 is noted to have an open fireplace.
