Description

Home Farmhouse is a timber-framed and brick farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with 18th and 20th-century alterations. It comprises two ranges. The west range has late 17th-century timber-framing with brick infill, and a rubblestone plinth. It is two storeys and has an attic. The north front features seven bays of square framing, with diaperwork patterns in the third and fifth bays. It has three 2-light casements on the ground floor, and two smaller 2-light casements above. The west gable end wall has bargeboards and visible timber framing. An off-centre doorway has a 20th-century door, with a 2-light casement to its left; above this is another 2-light casement, and a small window in the gable. All windows are 20th-century insertions. The north range, dating to the 18th century and constructed of brick, is two storeys high. Its west front has a first-floor band and three bays. A central doorway is flanked by a 20th-century 6-panel door and a triangular hood supported on brackets. To the left and right of the doorway are single 3-light casements with cambered arches, and above are two 3-light casements with flat arches.
