Description

This is a 1690 house, with alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick, with some rubblestone, and has a plain tile roof with stone-coped gables and kneelers. A single ridge stack is centrally positioned. The north front has a rubblestone plinth and a brick band at the first floor level. The house is two storeys and has an attic. The north front is arranged with four bays and features an off-centre doorway with a 20th-century panelled door under a flat arch. To the left of the doorway is a single, two-light casement window with a segmental arch. To the right is a smaller fixed-light window, followed by another two-light casement, both with segmental arches. Above, a central small fixed-light window is set within a segmental arch, flanked by single two-light casements with flat arches. All windows are 20th-century replacements. The east gable end wall has a two-light casement with a flat arch. Above this is a datestone with a hoodmould, inscribed "TP 1690”. A small fixed-light window with a flat arch sits above the datestone, within the gable. A lower rear wing extending south along High Street is one storey and attic in height, features three casement windows, and has two gable dormers.
