Description
The Cave Arms Public House is a public house dating from the 17th century, with 20th century alterations. It features a timber frame and brick construction, topped with a thatched roof and two brick stacks. The building is 1½ storeys high and has a brick plinth.
The east front consists of seven bays, six of which are square framed with rendered infill that is three panels high, while one bay on the left has been rebuilt in brick. From left to right, there is a 20th century fixed-light window, a two-light casement window, and two three-light casement windows. Above these, there are four eyebrow dormers, each with three-light casements.
On the south gable end wall, there is an off-centre doorway, with two small casements to the right. Inside, the public house features exposed beams and joists, along with 20th century alterations. The roof is said to retain many original timbers. The building is included for its group value.
