Description

The Berries is a farmhouse with an attached barn and a mud wall, dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some stone elements, and features a 20th-century composite tile roof that has a coped left gable with stone kneelers. The building has one ridge stack and one gable stack, and a brick plinth. It stands two storeys high with an attic.

The east front has a dentilled cornice and consists of four bays. There is an off-centre doorway that has a 20th-century part-glazed door set within a cambered arch. To the left of the doorway, there are two three-light casements with cambered arches, and to the right, there is a single similar casement. Above these, there is a single-light casement, with two three-light casements to the left and another similar casement to the right, all featuring cambered arches. In the left gable, there is a two-light sliding sash window with a cambered arch.

At the rear, there is a two-storey range that includes an attached brick and timber-framed barn set on a brick plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The north wall of the barn has panels of square framing, two panels high, with brick infill. The south wall is made of brick and has a large doorway with double plank doors. Attached to the right on the north side is a mud wall that has a rubblestone plinth and corrugated iron coping, measuring approximately 1.5 meters high and 15 meters long, curving along its length.
