Description
Stone House Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from squared coursed lias with a slate roof. It originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The façade features a three-window range of metal casements that have moulded stone surrounds, with the ground-floor windows also displaying moulded friezes. A central 20th-century door is framed by a moulded stone surround topped with a pulvinated frieze cornice. There are narrow windows on either side of the door, which also have moulded stone surrounds. All ground-floor openings are topped with brick relieving arches. The roof is hipped and includes stone stacks at the ridge, along with central 19th-century roof dormers. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that is partly made of cob. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is said to contain a 17th-century staircase with turned balusters.
