Description

Greenacre is a house dating from the 17th century, with its main range raised in 1905. It has a three-unit plan and is constructed of cob and coursed squared stone, topped with a slate roof and featuring a brick end stack. The building is two stories high and has a two-window range. To the left, there is a four-panel door with an overlight, framed by a timber lintel and a semi-circular metal hood supported by wrought iron brackets. To the right of the door, there is a two-light casement window, and a small square four-pane window has replaced the central door. Above, there is a three-light window and a two-light casement window to the first floor on the left, all with timber lintels. The house features an ironstone band at sill level and on the right gable end, while the rest is cob, raised in brick and rendered.

To the left, there is a two-storey and attic, one-window mid-18th century addition. This addition has a two-light casement window on the ground floor with shutters and another two-light casement window on the first floor, both with stone lintels and keyblocks. The addition also has stone coped gables with kneelers, a slate roof, and brick end stacks.

Inside, the older range has bar-stop-chamfered spine beams and some bar-stop-chamfered ceiling joists, along with stone-flagged floors and an open fireplace with a replacement bressumer. The roof features a collar truss design.
