Description
10 and 11 The Green are a pair of cottages built around 1820. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers and have graded slate roofs, along with brick ridge and lateral stacks. The cottages are two storeys tall with an attic and feature a three-window range. The central door is blank, and there are windows on the first and attic floors, all with pointed arched heads. Each cottage has single-storey flanking wings with lean-to roofs. The windows are two-light Gothick casements with pointed arched heads and timber Y-tracery. There is a central attic window set in a pedimental gable, and the eaves are deep and overhanging. Entrances are located on the left and right sides, each with gabled porches. These cottages are part of a group of four semi-detached homes on the south side of the Green, which were built as part of a model estate village for the 3rd Earl of Pomfret.
