Description
No. 3 The Green is a cottage built around 1800 to 1822. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers and features a graded slate roof with a brick ridge stack. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The central entrance is a panelled door with a pointed arched head. The windows are two-light Gothick casements, also with pointed arches and timber Y-tracery, with the attic window set in a pedimental gable. The eaves are deep and overhanging. This cottage is one of a group of four detached cottages on the east side of the Green, which are part of a model estate village built for the 3rd Earl of Pomfret.
