Description

Ivydene is a 17th-century house located on Church Street in Lower Weedon. It is built from coursed squared ironstone and features a ridged pantile roof with brick end stacks, the right stack resting on a stone base. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range.

The entrance is a part-glazed door positioned just to the right of centre, framed by a pilastered wood surround that includes a plain frieze and a dentilled cornice. To the far left and to the right of the door, there are a 2-light casement window with a stone surround and a canted bay window, respectively. The first floor features three 3-light leaded casement windows with timber lintels. The exterior also showcases quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers.

At the rear, there is a blocked door with a chamfered stone surround and three 3-light ovolo stone mullion windows on the first floor, each with hood moulds. Inside, the house contains stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a bread oven, another fireplace with a cambered chamfered bressumer, and a dog-leg staircase with splat balusters. Additionally, there is a fitted cupboard with shaped shelves.
