Description
No. 18 Meadow Lane is a house dated 1707, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone, banded with limestone, and features a thatched roof with a brick ridge stack. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a two-window range. A four-panel door is located to the far left, framed by a moulded wood surround within a 20th-century porch. The ground and first floors have two-light leaded casement windows with wooden lintels. Architectural details include a chamfered plinth, quoins, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. A datestone inscribed TM/1707 is found on the right gable. There is a 19th-century extension to the rear left. Inside, the hall features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and a stone-flagged floor. The sitting room contains a Tudor-arched ironstone fireplace with cut spandrels.
