Description
No. 3 Meadow Lane is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble mixed with ironstone and features a plain-tile roof with stone end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel, part-glazed door that is topped with a wood lintel and a gabled hood supported by brackets. There are two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with wood lintels. The cottage has ironstone quoins and gables that are coped with ironstone and include kneelers. Inside, there are agee-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a cambered ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer. The staircase has slender turned balusters, which are likely from the late 18th century, and has been rebuilt.
