Description

The village stocks, located on the south side of Bedford Road in Little Houghton, date from 1835 but have older origins. They are made of timber with ironwork. The woodwork was renewed in 1835, while the ironwork may be older. The last person to be placed in the stocks was William Baucott in 1837 for being drunk and ill-treating his wife.
