The Village Shop and Post Office is a shop and dwelling located at No. 52 on Bedford Road in Little Houghton. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a 20th-century pantile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, comprising a two-window range.
The entrance is a 20th-century door situated to the far right, framed by a moulded wood surround and a stone lintel with a keyblock. To the left of the door is a shallow curved bay window from the 20th century, which also has a similar lintel. There is a blocked window to the ground floor left of centre with a wooden lintel. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window in the centre and a 20th-century window to the right, both featuring wooden lintels. The building has quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there is a chamfered bressumer and an open fireplace, also with a chamfered bressumer.
