Description
Homefarm Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with a datestone indicating the year 1683. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with squared quoins and features an artificial stone slate roof, along with brick and stone stacks. The building has an L-plan shape and consists of two storeys and an attic, with three bays.
The entrance is located in the second bay from the right and features a wooden lintel above a four-panel door, which is sheltered by a flat wooden hood supported by scroll brackets. On either side of the entrance are three-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods, while the left bay has a four-light stone mullioned window without a hood. The first floor has three-light stone mullioned windows, also without hoods. The gable ends are coped and include kneelers.
At the rear, there is a wing extending from the left end, built in similar materials and also dating from the 17th century. This wing has two storeys and one bay, with a datestone on the first floor reading ID/1683. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams and an open fireplace. It was formerly known as "Lines Farmhouse."
