Description
Magdalen College School is a building located to the south of the Chapel of Saints John and James, standing back from the road on the east side of Brackley High Street. It consists of the remains of a house that likely dates from the 16th to 17th century, which has undergone alterations and additions. The structure is two stories tall, built with coursed rubble and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The south gable end features a large projecting stone stack with stepped Welsh slated offsets, while the north-east gable has a smaller projecting stone stack, both adorned with moulded brick shafts. The west front includes modern sash windows, one of which has three 19th-century Gothic traceried lights. The first-floor north windows in the west front are set in stone frames with keystones from the 18th century.
