Description
This is a row of three houses, originally four, located on Benefield Road in Brigstock, dating from the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed from squared coursed limestone and feature thatch and pantile roofs. They are designed with two storeys and together form an eight-window range on the first floor, showcasing casement windows with glazing bars beneath wooden lintels. The ground floor has a similar four-window arrangement. There are three 20th-century doors positioned between the window ranges. Number 33 includes a 20th-century rustic porch, while numbers 37 and 39 have 20th-century stone porches. The houses have rebuilt brick stacks at the ridge and ends, with number 33 having a higher ridge. The rear of numbers 37 and 39 features a 20th-century extension with a pantile roof. The interiors of the houses were remodeled in the 20th century. These homes were originally estate houses for Fermyn Woods Hall.
