Description

This is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of High Street, Gretton. It is constructed from regular coursed limestone, originally with a thatched roof, but now has a combination of thatch and slate. The house was initially planned as a two-unit dwelling. It is a single-story building with an attic, featuring a three-window range of 19th-century casement windows beneath wooden lintels. There are eyebrow dormers above the attic windows. An ashlar chimney stack with molded cornices is located at the right end, and a brick chimney stack with a tulip chimney pot is at the left end. A 19th-century extension projecting forward to the left has a slate roof and a 20th-century roof dormer. The return wall features a 19th-century plank door under a wooden lintel. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
