Description
Hall Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features thatch and 20th-century plain tile roofs. The original layout consists of three units. The building is single storey with an attic and has a three-window arrangement that includes one-, two-, and three-light casements set beneath wooden lintels. The attic features similar windows located under eyebrow dormers, along with a three-light stone mullion window on the right side of the attic.
To the left of the center, there is a 20th-century plank door beneath a wooden lintel, and another similar door is located at the far right under a moulded stone surround. The gable ends have ashlar parapets, and there are brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends. There is evidence suggesting different construction phases between the main house and the right bay. The far right section, built in the 19th century, has a two-window range and a 20th-century plain tile roof. The left gable features two casements under wooden lintels. While the interior has not been inspected, it may still contain remnants of open fireplaces.
