Description

The house at 15 Upper Benefield is a building dating from the mid- to late 18th century, with later 19th-century additions. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally planned with two units, the house now features a two-storey, two-window front. The windows are 19th-century casements beneath wooden lintels. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks are present at either end of the building. A single-unit extension was added in the 19th century to the left, incorporating one casement window and a 20th-century door, each set beneath stone lintels with keyblocks. A 20th-century eaves dormer is also visible. A partially legible 18th-century date is discernible on the right-hand quoin. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
