Description

Mulberry Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, located on Main Street in BENEFIELD. Originally built as a single-unit dwelling, it is constructed from squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate and concrete tile roof. The house was originally a single storey with an attic. It has a two-window front, featuring 19th-century style casement windows set beneath wooden lintels. A 20th-century lean-to porch is centrally located. A remnant ashlar chimney stack exists at one end. A 19th-century single-storey extension to the left has a concrete tile roof and 19th-century casement windows, with attic windows in the gable ends. The interior was noted to contain an open fireplace with a bressumer.
