Description
11 High Street is a house located in Easton on the Hill, with datestones indicating its construction in 1607, 1674, and 1792. The building is made of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed as a three-unit plan, it is a single-storey structure with an attic and has a three-window range. The windows include 19th-century casements under wooden lintels on the far left and right, and a late 18th-century central bay window with a slate roof. To the right of the center, there is a 20th-century six-panel door, also under a wooden lintel. The house has three gabled eaves dormers with 19th-century casements, and the cheeks of the dormers show remnants of plasterwork decoration. The building is topped with ashlar ridge and end stacks that retain parts of moulded cornices. The datestone from 1607 is located on the left corner quoin, the 1674 datestone is on the left stack, and the 1792 datestone is positioned to the left of the bay window. At the rear, there is a short wing that contains a blocked two-light stone mullion cellar window and a 20th-century porch. Although the interior was not inspected, it likely contains remnants of open fireplaces.
