Description
The Cottage, located approximately 40 metres southeast of The Manor House, is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The original layout is a three-unit plan, and the building is single storey with an attic. The façade has a three-window range of leaded casements set under wooden lintels. There are three hipped eaves dormers in the attic, which also contain similar casements. A central door, dating from the 20th century, is positioned under a wooden lintel. A brick stack is located at the ridge of the roof. The interior has not been inspected. In the 19th century, the building was used as the "Eagle Tap" public house. It is included for its group value with nearby structures.
