Description
Lyveden Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The original design was a two-unit plan, and the building stands two storeys high. The front has a three-window range that includes 19th-century two- and three-light stone mullion windows. The central entrance is a part-glazed door framed by a moulded stone surround with a keyblock. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and ashlar stacks at each end. At the rear, there is a 19th-century lean-to and a casement window with a wooden lintel. Inside, the cottage has an open fireplace with a bressumer. The building is included for its group value.
