Description
No. 2 Kettering Road is a house dating from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and brick, topped with a pantile roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the house is two storeys high. It features a two-window range of plain casements with wood lintels, and there is a small 20th-century canted bay window on the ground floor to the left. The central entrance has a four-panel door, also beneath a wood lintel. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks at the ridge and ends. There are single-storey brick extensions from the 19th century on both the left and right sides. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace and ceiling beams.
