Description
No. 25, Main Street is a house dating from the early 19th century, incorporating reused 17th-century masonry. Constructed of squared coursed limestone with an ashlar facade, it has a thatched roof. Originally planned as a two-unit dwelling, it now has a three-window arrangement on two storeys, with 20th-century casement windows set within chamfered ashlar surrounds. A central 20th-century door also has a similar surround. The building features ashlar gable parapets and brick and stone stacks at each end. A 19th-century wing is attached to the rear at right angles. Internally, there are reused spine beams with lozenge decoration, and an open fireplace with a bressumer. It was shown as Spinney Farm on an Ordnance Survey map.
