Description
Hill Tree Cottages is a late 18th-century building that consists of two houses now combined into one dwelling. The structure is made of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, each house had a one-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a four-window range of 19th-century casement windows, with one horizontal sliding sash window in the center, all set under wooden lintels. To the right of the center, there is a 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel. The building has four roof dormers that contain 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The roof is mansard style, with brick stacks at both ends. There is a 19th-century lean-to extension on the right side. Inside, there are remnants of two open fireplaces with bressumers, which have been modified in the 20th century.
