Description
Willow Brook Farmhouse is a late 17th and early 18th century building, with later 19th-century alterations. Originally a three-room farmhouse, it is constructed of regular coursed limestone and lias, with thatch and pantile roofing. The front elevation has four 19th-century casement windows under wooden lintels. A ribbed wooden door, also under a wooden lintel, is positioned to the left and features a rectangular fanlight. A shallow buttress with ashlar coping is visible at the left corner. Brick stacks rise from the ridge and end of the roof. The rear elevation mirrors the front, with a two-light stone mullion window providing access to the cellar, and a leaded casement window on the first floor to the right. A single-storey extension to the left, added in the 19th century, is roofed with pantiles. Inside, the room to the left of the entrance has an open fireplace with a bressumer. The entrance hall contains an arch-headed wall cupboard with panelled doors and reeded pilasters, plus two winder staircases. Tie beams are visible on the first floor. The building was formerly used as the Hare and Hounds Public House.
