Description

Collyweston Manor is a manor house dated 1695, which was rebuilt in 1912 using 17th-century masonry. It features squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof and has a double-depth plan. The building is two stories tall with an attic. The main front displays a five-window range of two-light cavetto moulded stone mullion windows, each with transoms. There are single-light windows with transoms flanking the central bay on both floors. The central panelled door is sheltered by a porch with a hipped roof. A chamfered plinth and a moulded cornice connect the heads of the ground floor windows. The roof has five eaves dormers with leaded casements and hipped roofs. The gable ends are finished with ashlar parapets and ashlar slacks at the ridge and ends. The right gable features a one-window range of two-light stone mullion windows similar to the main front, while the left gable includes an early 20th-century bay window with stone mullions. The rear wing is partially rendered and has early 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to contain a reset staircase with turned balusters and a reset fireplace with a bolection moulded surround. Originally, the house was located on High Street in Collyweston before being rebuilt at its current site in 1912.
