Description

Three houses, now two dwellings, dating to the 17th and 19th centuries, with restoration work carried out in the 20th century. The construction is of squared coursed limestone, with Collyweston slate roofs. Originally, the properties likely comprised two 17th-century single-unit dwellings and one 19th-century single-unit dwelling. The building is partly single-storey with an attic, and partly two-storeys, with a three-bay facade. The central bay is likely the earliest part of the building and contains a 19th-century casement window under a wooden lintel, which likely originally served as a doorway. The bay to the right is 17th-century, featuring a range of two-light stone mullion windows with an ovulo-moulded design. The bay to the left is 19th-century, with a range of 19th-century casement windows, with a shallow stone arch over the ground-floor window. A four-panel door is located to the right of the window, also beneath a stone arch. The central bay is single-storey with an attic, while the flanking bays are two-storeys. Brick and stone stacks are positioned at the ends and at the abutment. The rear elevation has two eaves dormers in the centre, along with 20th-century casement windows to the left and a plank door to the right, both under wooden lintels. Inside No. 31, there are chamfered spine beams, and what appears to be an open fireplace, now blocked.
