Description
10 and 11 Wakerley Road is a house that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and lias, topped with a thatch and corrugated asbestos roof. Originally built as a single-unit plan, it has been modified into three units. The house is single storey with an attic and features a four-window range of irregular 19th-century style casements beneath wooden lintels. To the right, there are two similar casements located under eyebrow dormers. The gable ends have ashlar parapets, and there are brick and stone stacks at the ends. A 19th or 20th-century lean-to extension on the right has a corrugated asbestos roof. At the rear, there are two 20th-century doors, also under wooden lintels, and three eyebrow dormers. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to contain remains of open fireplaces and ceiling beams. The house was likely extended to the west in the 18th century.
