Description

Harringworth Stores and attached house is a building that combines a house and shop, with origins dating back to the late 17th century and later alterations in the mid 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building originally had a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall.

The front elevation has a four-window range of 19th-century casements on the first floor, all set beneath wooden lintels. On the ground floor, there is a 17th-century four-light stone mullion window on the far left, a 20th-century window on the far right, and a 20th-century shop window with an attached door located left of centre, along with a 20th-century casement to the right. The shop window features a chamfered stone sill. To the right, there is a 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel. The building has a brick stack at the ridge and a hipped roof on the right side.

The right elevation includes a single-light window that is now blocked, which has a moulded stone surround and a hood mould. At the rear, there is a single-storey range attached to the main building. Inside, the property has remnants of open fireplaces that are now blocked, as well as a reset stud partition decorated with a black and white painted pattern.
