Description

HARRINGWORTH SEATON ROAD SP9197 (East side) The Manor House and attached 23/05/67 walls to N and S (Formerly listed as The Manor House) GV II House. Late C17 extended C18 and modified C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and Collyweston slate roof. Double depth plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front is a 5-window range. Central arch-head doorway with mid C19 quoins, voussoirs and keystone has C19 panelled door. 2-light stone mullion windows with transoms. Ashlar quoins. Pair of hipped roof dormers with C18 casement windows. Hipped roof with central ashlar stack. Elevations to left and right of main front have one 2-light window and one single-light window, similar to main front. Elevation to left also has C19 sash windows, with glazing bar, and one hipped roof dormer. Rear elevation has C19 sash window, with glazing bars. Late C18 brick quadrant walls, with ashlar copings, are attached to left and right of main front. Interior: rooms to left and right of entrance have panelled dados, parts of which have C18 fielded panelling. Late C17 stair, rises around an open well, to rear right of entrance passage. Closed string with moulded handrail, turned balusters and panelled newels. First floor room, to left, has late C17 stone fireplace with frieze and side panels decorated with elongated scrolls. First floor room, to right, has late C17 fireplace with continuous moulded stone surround. C18 range, to rear, has a half cellar.
