Description
Jeffs is a house located on Stable Hill, dated 1748 with a mid-19th century extension. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and brick, topped with a roof of concrete tiles and slate. The house originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The front features a two-window range of 19th-century casement windows on the first floor, which are set under stop-chamfered wood lintels. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century sash window to the right and a blocked window to the left, both also under stop-chamfered wood lintels. The central entrance has a six-panel door beneath a wood lintel. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers, and there are ashlar end stacks with moulded cornices. A datestone is visible on the left gable.
To the right, there is a mid-19th century two-unit brick extension. The rear elevation mirrors the front, featuring some 20th-century casements. Inside, the room to the left contains an open fireplace with a bressumer and spine beams.
