Description

This is a row of houses located at 14-18 Mackworth Green, dating from the mid-18th century, with a datestone marked MD/1840, and restored in the 20th century. The houses are built from regularly coursed ironstone and feature slate roofs, with a two-unit plan. The structure is two storeys high and consists of a seven-window range, which includes irregularly spaced 20th-century casements with glazing bars set under wooden lintels. There are five 20th-century doors positioned between the windows, also under wooden lintels. There is evidence of changes to the windows on the left and right sides of the door to No. 15. The buildings retain remnants of ashlar kneelers and have brick stacks located at the ridge and ends. Above the entrance to No. 15 is the datestone. The left gable features pigeon holes and a single-storey lean-to, while the right corner is chamfered. The rear elevation has a central blank arch with a window that has been inserted. The interiors have not been inspected.
