Description
Gates, gatepiers, railings, walls, and an attached summerhouse extend approximately 300 meters north, south, and east of Harrowden Hall. These structures date from the early 18th century and include five pairs of limestone ashlar panelled gatepiers, with two piers topped by urns. Each pair is accompanied by wrought-iron side railings, gates, and overthrows. The gatepiers are connected by brick walls, which also feature two additional 19th-century iron gates and restorations from the 19th and 20th centuries.
To the north of Harrowden Hall, there is a summerhouse attached to the wall, which includes one sash window, one casement window, and one oval window, all with moulded stone architraves. The walls are connected to the garden front of Harrowden Hall, creating four sides of a walled garden to the east of the hall, while the outer walls to the north, south, and west form the boundaries of the adjacent park. This layout is part of a formal arrangement that includes statues located approximately 30 meters northeast and southeast, and another statue plinth about 60 meters northeast. The gates, gatepiers, and railings are situated around 300 meters east of Harrowden Hall, with steps located about 10 meters east of the hall. The gardens and park are recognized in the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
